It’s November 1st. And we have launched a company. And we are so grateful.
I’d love to write about all the people that helped us. But my heart, this early morning, is wandering in a different direction. Today, I am thinking about my home. About the children loudly spilling through it last night, hyped up on candy and freedom – freedom to run from home to home on a warm Halloween night. I have this overwhelming feeling of gratitude, for their safety, their joy – their freedom to be young women in this wonderful country of ours.
I am dreaming of hugging my child before she runs off to school this morning – so grateful that she is happy in middle school – despite all the small dramas of life.
My dogs sit beside me, one big girl, one small – each happy to lean against me, so that I can barely type this blog. They are my role models for gratitude. They are happy to be hugged, to run outside, to have a treat. Every moment of their lives is new and fully of opportunity. They harbor no grudges – they just look at me expectantly, ready for whatever excitement I have planned.
And now my thoughts change to work. I have work that I love! Some days, more than I can even do. But it’s making me so happy. I think we are all really entrepreneurs here at Flagology. We have mostly given away product – and yet we are all buzzing about, happily working like crazy, just knowing that our little flag project is going to make so many people happy! It’s such fun – I cannot describe it.
So thank you. In our first week, you created 100 flags. And gave us 100 likes on facebook. We are grateful to you, to our families, to this country that lets us live our dreams. So for the next 30 days, we’ll post our Flagology 30 Days of Gratitude. We invite you to join us. Take a moment to say what you are grateful for.
Here is one of my favorite gratitude quotes from my favorite author – because seriously, Piglet & Pooh & Tigger – they are amazing teachers. Thanks AA Milne. I’m grateful you wrote stories that I fell in love with. Fly your quotes of gratitude ya’ll – love you – thanks for helping us believe in our dream.
