Robin has been a friend and employee for a long time. I can always count on her for blunt honesty, incredible hard work, a fine tuned attention to detail – and love, candy and treats for every holiday. She is a bow hunter and a mountain girl at heart, and you seriously do not want to mess with her beloved Mustang. She is a fair and loving person. Last year, she was graced by a grandchild, and she has never recovered. We worry sometimes that she may go home and never come back to us! She is head over heels in love.
We made her a test flag a few months ago, of her granddaughter. When we gave it to her, she cried! We call it the “Little Peanut Flag” and it’s been traveling with me for about 3 months now, as we present the Flagology concept to all sorts of folks who are helping us birth this new little company. Robin’s little peanut is 1 year old now.
Here is what she wrote about her today:
A Grandchild’s Smile….
- You never realize how much unconditional love your heart can give and receive until you see your grandchild smile
- When she takes her first step and then runs into your arms, your heart melts
- When she says her first words….look, see, hey, qurrel (this is actually squirrel…LOL)… whatever those words are, it doesn’t matter because she is immediately the smartest baby in the world and you find yourself speaking her language
- Her smile is given with complete love and understanding that the love will be returned
- Most of all when you see her with your son, daughter in law and her Papaw, you realize the most important things in life are…not material but things you forever hold in your heart
- These thoughts are what I think of when I see our “little peanut” on her very own flag!
And then she made me laugh out loud, by emailing me “OK…so I can only do one at a time because this has choked me up….” I knew she was crying!
We will have some cool Grandparent flags when we launch in November.
