We felt compelled to share this story because there’s nothing quite comparable to the love between pets and their owners. This bond was especially apparent in Carmen, a loving boxer, and her owner, Ben. His family described the two as inseparable. Tragically, Ben and Carmen were inside of a house when a fire broke out. Carmen, never wanting to leave Ben’s side, attempted to shield him from the fire with her body according to the local news station, WCPO, in Cincinnati.
Sadly, Ben passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital in Cincinnati. His family and friends are finding a bit of comfort in the midst of this tragedy because Carmen survived. Carmen is currently in critical condition and has been under 24/7 supervision from the staff at CARE Center Vets. In one of the latest pictures posted to the Care Center Vets Facebook (above) Carmen has been receiving therapy to aid in her recovery.
