National Police Week: Honoring the Fallen

Across the country this week, families of fallen police officers have traveled to Washington, D.C. for National Police Week. http://www.policeweek.org/ They join together for candlelight vigils and memorial services to honor and celebrate the lives of their husbands, wives, sons, daughters, fathers & mothers…men & women who have died to protect you and me. These events are supported by donations through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

It has been a privilege to be a small part of these families’ personal tributes to their loved ones. The photos they have shared of their flags at the National Memorial wall in D.C. this week have been beyond humbling. We pause to honor these families and their perseverance in the face of loss and sadness. As a way to honor those they have lost, these families continue to raise awareness of the daily sacrifices made by local law enforcement officers.

Tomorrow, we will send out a special blog honoring one of those heroes, Brad Fox, and share his story and the story of his wife and how she has chosen to keep his memory alive.

With Love & Gratitude,

Susan
